Extraordinary Volcanic Activity: Mauna Loa, Kilauea, Sakurajima, Semeru, Stromboli
The first week of December 2022 turned out to be extremely alarming: one after another volcanoes around the world erupted, showing extraordinary activity. It is worth noting the fact that this situation has been observed since the end of last month.

28 NOVEMBER – EARLY DECEMBER 2022
🔴 UNITED STATES, HAWAII: The world's largest volcano, Mauna Loa, has been erupting for more than a week. Several active lava streams move down the slopes, threatening to block one of the island's most important transportation routes.
To the south, Mauna Loa is bordered by a much more active volcano, Kilauea. It has been erupting since last year.

DECEMBER 2–4, 2022
🔴 JAPAN: Volcano Sakurajima on the island of Kyushu woke up. As of December 4, the volcano was in the third level of danger.
SMOKE COLUMN ROSE TO A HEIGHT OF MORE THAN 3 KM
Local residents were urged to evacuate.
DECEMBER 4, 2022
🔴 INDONESIA, JAVA: On December 4, the eruption of the volcano Semeru began. Smoke plunged the island of Java into darkness. The danger level was raised to the highest level.
VOLCANO THREW OUT A CLOUD OF ASH UP TO 15 KM HIGH
INDONESIA.
The last time it got active was exactly one year ago... on this very day! Then it had disastrous consequences that many people did not survive.
DECEMBER 4, 2022
🔴 ITALY, STROMBOLI: On that day, sirens went off in Italy on the island of Stromboli. In the northern part of the vent of the volcano with the same name there was a very strong expl%$ion, accompanied by a significant emission of lava.
Later expl%$ive activity was observed in other parts of the volcano.
The pyroclastic flow, which fell into the sea, caused a local tsunami.
THE WAVE HEIGHT REACHED 1.5 M
We have seen only a few volcanoes that are erupting in sync and actively making themselves known. We should not forget about the potential threat these phenomena pose and what it can lead to.
