NOVEMBER 9, 2022

🆘 ITALY: The earthquake and subsequent aftershocks were recorded off the coast of Italy.

🆘 NEPAL: An earthquake of magnitude 6.6 rocked Nepal. The shaking was felt even by the inhabitants of India, 400 km from the epicenter.

🆘 FIJI: On the same day, it was very shaking near the Fiji archipelago, the magnitude of the largest shock was — 7.

🆘 TONGA: An earthquake of magnitude 7.3 occurred in the region of the Tonga Islands.

Let's look at the statistics for the first two weeks of November 2022. According to the USGS earthquake monitoring resource earthquakes were occurred during this period:

● M2.5+ earthquakes — 588;

● M5.0+ earthquakes — more than 75;

● at least 3 M7.0+ earthquakes.

The ascent of magma has resulted in an unprecedented increase in the number of earthquakes.

The highest number of deep-focus earthquakes is observed in the area where the Hunga Tonga – Hunga Haʻapai volcano erupted in January 2022. And the worst part is that it is just outside the Mariana Trench, which has the thinnest oceanic crust — a mere 5 km.
