ROYAL OAK, Mich., — Volunteers from Creative Society took part in ViewFest 2026, one of the nation’s largest mental health and prevention festivals, held July 12 at the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak, Michigan. The free community event, organized by Words of Hope 4 Life, drew thousands of attendees, including healthcare organizations, nonprofits, educators, public officials, and community advocates working to promote mental well-being, prevention, and access to essential resources.

This year’s theme, “Bloom Forward,” focused on resilience, connection, and the social factors that shape health and wellness.

Throughout the event, Creative Society volunteers engaged with attendees in discussions about the organization’s work to raise international awareness of the global environmental crisis, examine its underlying causes, and support the development of science-based solutions. Particular attention was given to the growing body of scientific research on microplastics and nanoplastics and their potential implications for ecosystems, human health, and long-term environmental stability.

As part of their outreach, Creative Society volunteers introduced attendees to the scientific and analytical report, "Nanoplastics: A Systematic Risk Analysis for Human Health, Ecosystems, and the Environment" published by the ALLATRA Global Research Center. The report synthesizes evidence from 592 scientific sources and examines the physicochemical properties of nanoplastics, their interactions with living systems, and their potential implications for human health and ecosystems. It also underscores the need for continued interdisciplinary research, improved environmental monitoring, and international scientific collaboration to better understand and address this emerging global challenge.
