Speaker Bio
He serves as the Chairman of the Department of Pediatric and Congenital Cardiovascular Surgery at Mitera Hospital in Athens and as a Full Professor of Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery at Koc University Hospital in Istanbul, Turkey.
Dr. Kalangos founded the charity institution "Coeurs Pour Tous (Hearts for All)", in 2002, the "Kalangos foundation" in Geneva, and in 2011 he co-founded the "Global Heart Network Foundation" in Delaware, USA.
Traveling across the globe with his voluntary medical team, they have already treated over 17’000 children with congenital heart defects in over 20 countries.
He is the President and founder of the Global Forum on Humanitarian Medicine in Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery. He was the former President of the World Society of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons.
He is also the inventor of the Kalangos biodegradable annuloplasty Ring. This device is being used in the repair of the mitral and tricuspid valves, especially in children.
Prof. Afksendiyos Kalangos published over 300 articles in different journals, mainly on cardiovascular surgery and cardiology.

Hello, everybody!
I would like to thank the Creative Society for giving me the opportunity to have this interactive Conference on the very essential problem of human society. And I am very happy to meet again some of my partners from the Creative Society. And I strongly support the Creative Society and the idea of the Creative Society.
I believe the Creative Society is a huge human project which started with the motivation probably of one person, or a small group of people. But now I realize, through all these interviews you do on a daily or on a weekly basis that the number of these motivated people around the Creative Society is increasing.
This project will be reinforced in a continuous way by all the people who will join the project. Now is the right time to change the consumerist habits of our society, to be more sensitive with the problems of our society, and try to discuss them to spread this interactive environment to the whole people, whо are part of this world.
