Speech

Greetings, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Hiroo Saionji, I am the president of The Goi Peace Foundation. It is a great honor for me to be invited to this international conference and have the opportunity to speak here.

The Goi Peace Foundation is engaged in a variety of activities to promote peace on Earth. One of our basic principles is the "Declaration for All Life on Earth”. We introduce our vision of peace. There are four principles in the Declaration.

The first one is Reverence for Life, the second one is Respect for All Differences, the third one is Grateful Coexistence with Nature, and the fourth one is Harmony between the spiritual and the material. It seems to me that the direction of these basic principles coincides with the Eight foundations on which the Creative Society is based. Well, I am glad about it.

We believe in the concept of critical mass theory which states that changing the thinking direction of one, two, five percent of the population will result in a trend that will change the mindset of the majority of people. Critical mass theory is a scientific theory. We believe that if we can change the consciousness of a few percent of the population, whether it's 100 or 200 million out of 7 billion people, there will be a big shift in everyone’s thinking.

We would like to spread this idea to those who support the Fuji Declaration. We are looking forward to collaborating toward a peaceful world. I sincerely wish this conference success. Thank you very much.
