“Quality Education for All – SDG 4: A Pathway towards the Better World”.  Central European conference of the Women’s Federation for World Peace

On June 28, 2025, Bratislava, Slovakia welcomed the Central European conference of the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP), held under the theme “Quality Education for All – SDG 4: A Pathway towards the Better World,” organized by three countries: Slovakia, Austria and Hungary. The event brought together educators, peacebuilders, researchers, and representatives of civil society from across the globe.

This year’s conference was co-organized by the Creative Society project and the ALLATRA International Public Movement, whose collaboration supported the shared goals of sustainable development, global peace, and the transformative role of education in solving today’s pressing issues. Philippine Diaspora was also among the organizers.

Topics of presentations

Session 1 – Education for Peace in Family and Community (SDG 16)

This session explored how value-based education can foster peace within families and communities. Topics included intergenerational dialogue and the power of local initiatives in promoting harmonious societies. 

Session 2 – Quality Education in Schools: Building Character (SDG 4)

Speakers highlighted the importance of integrating emotional and moral development into school education systems and examined how education can help shape responsible and compassionate individuals.

Session 3 – There is No Planet B: Clean Water, Clean Oceans (SDG 6)

The final session focused on environmental issues, including the water crisis, ocean pollution, and the growing impact of microplastics on ecosystems and human health.

From Dialogue to Action: Working Groups

Participants engaged in collaborative working groups that addressed:

  1. Environmental protection and pollution
  2. Media’s influence on education
  3. Inner peace and stress management techniques
  4. Advocacy, diplomacy, and cooperation with the UNОН

Participation of the Creative Society project and ALLATRA Movement

Representatives of the Creative Society project and the ALLATRA International Public Movement contributed actively to the official program, presenting on urgent environmental and social topics. Their presentations were aimed at raising awareness and encouraging action toward a better future:

  • Eva Leschenko, counselling psychologist, art therapist – spoke on “How Children Reflect the World Through Human Relationships,” emphasizing the significance of empathy and emotional connection in child development.
  • Tetiana Zinchenko, Ph.D., psychotherapist and President of IASGA – presented “The Impact of Harmful Media Content on Adolescents’ Mental Health and Behavior,” drawing attention to the influence of digital media on youth.
  • Barbora Mejzlíková, participant of the Creative Society project – highlighted “Ocean and Environmental Pollution with Microplastics,” raising public concern about plastic contamination and its irreversible effects.
  • Robert Mikita, ALLATRA movement participant – presented scientific insights in “Micro- and Nanoplastics: Health Consequences and Scientific Findings,” discussing how plastic particles are found in human tissues and their potential effects on health.

Their input emphasized the urgent need for international cooperation, scientific research, and global education on environmental and mental health threats.

Throughout the day, media representatives from the ALLATRA movement conducted interviews with conference participants. Many attendees noted that the presented topics, particularly regarding microplastic pollution and its hidden dangers, were previously unfamiliar to them but deeply alarming.

The Creative Society project and ALLATRA movement express sincere gratitude to the conference organizers for the opportunity to participate and contribute to this important international dialogue. The conference served as a vital platform for collaboration, exchange of ideas, and concrete steps toward a more peaceful, informed, and sustainable world.
