Representatives of the Creative Society project participated in a series of scientific and public events in Morocco

23 May 2025

From May 17 to 23, 2025, representatives of the Creative Society international project gave presentations at scientific conferences, took part in roundtable discussions, and held meetings and workshops at universities and public organizations across the Kingdom of Morocco.

The discussions focused on the ongoing climate and environmental crisis, the impact of microplastics on human health and the environment, and the influence of destructive media content on the mental well-being of young people. Special attention was given to the importance of fostering social responsibility and building a culture that prioritizes the value of human life.

May 17, Fez — Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University, Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences – Dhar El Mahraz, Laboratory of Sociology and Psychology:

Meetings were held with researchers, faculty members, and students. The discussions focused on:

  • The impact of harmful digital content (video games, social media, media platforms) on the mental health of adolescents.
  • Risks associated with environmental pollution from micro- and nanoplastics, and their effects on mental health, cognitive function, and human development.

May 18, 22, and 23, Kenitra:

Representatives of the project participated in a scientific symposium organized with the support of Professor Mostafa Benramel, President of the Ecological Minarets Association for Development and Climate.

The presentations and subsequent discussions focused on the following topics:

  • The impact of microplastics on biodiversity and human health.
  • Environmental awareness and the role of education in sustainable development.

May 22–23 — III International Congress Clinical Approach: Between Neuropsychology and Dynamic Psychology — From Research to Practice, organized by Ibn Tofail University at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

A presentation was given on the topic: “The Impact of Microplastic and Nanoplastic Pollution on Mental Health and Neurodevelopment,” featuring excerpts from the science documentary “Trap for Humanity.”

May 19, Marrakech — Federation of Women’s Rights Leagues of the Marrakech-Safi Region (FLDF Marrakech-Safi):

A meeting was held to discuss socially significant initiatives. Representatives of the Creative Society project presented approaches aimed at creating a safe and supportive environment where human life is of the highest value.

The discussion focused on strategies to strengthen social stability, improve living conditions, and provide support for women and youth in the region.

May 20, Rabat — Conference at the African Center for Administrative Training and Research for Development (CAFRAD):

Participants of the Creative Society project presented data on the growing progression of climate change and disasters, based on the report titled “On the Progression of Climate Disasters on Earth and Their Catastrophic Consequences.” A presentation was also given on the impact of micro- and nanoplastics on the environment, ocean warming, and human health.

Possible technological solutions and directions for further scientific research were discussed.

May 21–22, Oujda — International Congress on “Climate Change and Adaptation: The Foundation for Development and Strengthening Territorial Resilience,” Mohammed Ist University:

Participants of the Creative Society project delivered presentations on the causes and consequences of the climate crisis, climate migration, and the impact of micro- and nanoplastic pollution on the biosphere and human health.

The presentations included discussions on potential solutions to these challenges and emphasized the need to establish a Unified Scientific Center dedicated to developing and implementing these solutions.

As a result, the congress organizers decided to distribute the report “On the Progression of Climate Disasters on Earth and Their Catastrophic Consequences” along with the conference proceedings to all participants.

During all the events, excerpts from popular science films — “The Anthropogenic Factor in the Ocean’s Demise” and “Trap for Humanity” — as well as the report “On the Progression of Climate Disasters on Earth and Their Catastrophic Consequences” were shown.

The results of many years of interdisciplinary research sparked significant interest within Morocco’s scientific community, laying the foundation for further discussions, collaboration, and joint efforts to find solutions at the global level.
