FIAP, Iberoamerican Advertising Festival, was created in Argentina in 1969, in order to promote and integrate communication throughout Spain, Portugal and Latin America, and, since 1993, the Hispanic market of the U.S.A.

The Festival has been held in Spain, Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, Costa Rica and Argentina, country that was established as its permanent site, in 1990.

Agencies from 23 countries and more than 8000 advertisements compete for the prestigious Suns of Ibero-America in TV, Print, Radio, Production Techniques, Design and Promo, Activations and Direct Marketing.

And over 2000 delegates participate every year.

Delegates can attend to the screening of all entries and to conferences of outstanding creatives (John Hegarty, Washington Olivetto, Nizan Guanaes, Bob Isherwood, Dan Wieden, Michael Conrad, Fernando Vega Olmos and Pablo Del Campo were some of FIAP speakers), and are able to see one of the largest print advertising exhibitions in the world.

In 2006 the first Young Creatives Marathon was launched (today Young Creatives Triathlon) gathering teams of young professionals, under 28 years of age from different markets across the region.

In 2007, together with ADFEST (Asia) and the Golden Drum (East Europe), FIAP created THE CUP (www.thecupawards.com). The Inter-Continental Advertisement Cup, gathers all winners and finalists of each one of these festivals, and those from the Art Directors Club as a guest.

In 2009, FIAP launched the first Ibero-American Hall of Fame, a tribute to all the communication leaders in the region. Creativess, advertisers, agencies and campaigns that showed the way, and left a legacy behind.

In 2010 the Club of Clubs was created. The first meeting of creative clubs from all Ibero-America.

In April 2011 the Ibero-American Cup was launched, an exclusive discipline that awards ideas, independently the media that was used, and was evaluated by a Jury in front of a live audience. Also through ADTV, FIAP did the first live online broadcasting of a jury selecting an award, the TV Grand Prix.
